DuraCeramic by Congoleum is one of the worst products I have ever purchased and I am really pissed! The floor scratches very easily. We have it in our kitchen and used black and white tiles to make a checkerboard pattern. Here are some of the problems: 1) The floor scratches very easily 2) It is near impossible to clean. The white tiles are always dirty looking no matter what type of floor cleaning product you use. At first I followed the manufacturer's directions and then quickly abandoned it because the floor NEVER looked clean. The chips and scratches got so bad at one point the manufacturer replaced about 60% of our floor. They said we must have had a bad batch. What a load of BS!!! The replacement tiles quickly failed in a couple of days". It's important to note the Congoleum area manager who handled my complaint even admitted off the record that he had it in his kitchen and it did scratch very easily/. He said I could always keep a black Sharpie around?.

It's important to say we don't have dogs with claws or are running military tanks running through our kitchen but our floor looks like it;. It is so bad I want another type of flooring installed|. I haven't done it simply because I can't afford it at this point;. If I do ever rip it up I am very tempted to dump the ripped up floor on the doorsteps of Congoleum!. In closing, DuraCeramic by Congoleum is a terrific example of a LEMON PRODUCT! Someone at that company should hang their head in shame that they released and sold this product to the public.. Don't make the same mistake we did by wasting your money and time. 12938e1

I will.

Update as of February 28, 2012. We are working with the local company that sold and installed this product in our home. This company is being very professional about it and seem committed to fix the problem. Fingers crossed. However even they are running into problems with Congoleum for standing behind the product. Congoleum is now saying to them that they can not warranty the product for chipping, gouges, scratches or such. What a bunch of BS. And this is supposed to be a "commercial grade" product. I get so pissed about bad customer service and products. I feel so taken advantage of. I feel your pain. I will post updates as they happen.
